We had been eagerly anticipating the opening of our 'hood's newest alehouse, Naked City Taphouse, so when we found out it was opening yesterday, I zipped up my fleece jacket when Scott got home and we walked the few blocks over to the restaurant.

I knew the alehouse had gotten some early buzz becuase of some of the posts on the Phinneywood blog, but we were unprepared for all the people who were there! This place was packed! Standing room only. If felt like being in a college bar again, only the people there were 10 years older and not so skeezy. It's a big, narrow restaurant, and the bar area takes up half of the room. There are some 4-tops all along the restaurant side of the room, but everywhere you looked were people standing with drinks. There were about 20 beers on tap, all written on the chalckboard paint that was on the wall. I went with the Chuckanut Organic Amber, which was tasty. I have decided I am okay with almost any beer, so long as it is not a wheat beer.

They didn't have much of a food menu (only a cheese plate, pretzels, etc) so after a drink, we walked back towards our house and stopped in the Kabab House for some indian food. The temperature had dropped quite a bit since we first set out that evening, so having some hot Chicken Tikka Masala and Okra for dinner was perfect!
